Which San Francisco restaurants failed a health inspection or were closed this month?
TL;DR: In the 30 days before Oct 26, 2026, the San Francisco Department of Public Health inspections feed on DataSF shows 4 restaurants with a failed inspection: 2 closed by the Health Department (red placard) and 2 given a conditional pass (yellow placard). 1 of them is still listed as closed. City Signals Data's one-time San Francisco restaurant change file lists each one with the date, result and source link, together with food businesses that opened, changed hands or closed in the city's business registry (7 registry closures in the same 30 days). Founding price $99 per city, 10 of 10 left, then $125, then $150.
How does San Francisco grade restaurant inspections?
San Francisco gives a placard status, not a number score: Pass (green), Conditional Pass (yellow, violations must be fixed and a reinspection follows) or Closure (red, closed by the Health Department until it passes a reinspection). We count a conditional pass or a closure as a failed inspection.
How many San Francisco restaurants failed an inspection this month?
In the 30 days before Oct 26, 2026: 4 restaurants (2 closures and 2 conditional passes). The latest failed inspection posted in that window was on Oct 22, 2026. The number moves month to month.
Does a closure mean the restaurant is gone for good?
No. A health closure is often lifted within days, once the restaurant passes a reinspection. The file marks a restaurant closed only while its latest posted inspection is still a closure. Of the 2 closures in this window, 1 had no passing reinspection posted yet.
Where does the data come from?
The San Francisco Department of Public Health's Health Inspection Scores (2024-Present) feed on DataSF (tvy3-wexg), and the city's Registered Business Locations (g8m3-pdis, food service) for openings, sales and closures. Both are public domain. Every row links to its government record.
How current is it?
The DataSF inspections feed is reloaded daily, but results can trail the inspection date by a few days. The file is pulled when you order, and each row shows the pull date.
What is left out?
Only restaurant health permits are counted, so markets, bars without food and cafeterias are left out. The inspections feed has no ZIP, so ZIP is blank on inspection-only rows. Businesses listed under an owner's personal name and home addresses are dropped.
How much does it cost and how fast do I get it?
Founding price $99 per city, 10 of 10 left, then $125, then $150. The file covers the last 30 days and is delivered within 3 days. You order by email and we reply with an invoice.
