TL;DR: City Signals Data covers all four cities from their official open-data permit portals. In the week of Oct 19, 2026 to Oct 25, 2026, Chicago issued 627 permits, Cincinnati 196, New Orleans 278 and Mesa 93. Each row names the contractor business and flags contractors that are new to the city or busy that week. Week of Oct 19, 2026 to Oct 25, 2026, counted by running Contractor Permit Signals on each city's official permit feed on Oct 26, 2026. *No permits in that city in the prior 12 months. **3 or more permits that week. A Chicago permit lists every trade contractor on the job, so Chicago shows more contractor businesses than permits. Sources: Chicago · Cincinnati · New Orleans · Mesa.

What is on each permit row?

Permit number, type, work description, stated job value, issue date, status and the government source link, plus the contractor business name and the new and busy flags. Job ZIP only where the city publishes it: Cincinnati yes, Chicago, New Orleans and Mesa no. On the Apify tool the job address is given for commercial permits only; residential addresses are withheld.

Are expiring and expired home permits included?

For Cincinnati, New Orleans and Mesa, yes, because those cities publish permit status. Chicago's permit feed has no expiration status, so there is no expiring-permit list for Chicago.

Is property information included?

Property facts such as year built, assessed value, code cases and flood zone come with the weekly file for Chicago and Cincinnati. New Orleans and Mesa rows have no property facts.

How fresh is it?

The weekly file lands every Monday and covers the prior week, pulled from each city's own feed. Some cities post permits a few days late, and each file shows the pull date.

Why do some permits have no contractor?

Permits pulled by an owner, or with only a person's name in the contractor field, are left out of the lead list. That is why the table shows fewer permits naming a contractor business than permits issued.

Does it include homeowner names or phone numbers?

No. The file holds business and property data only: no owner names, phone numbers or email addresses.

How much does it cost?

$150 per month or $490 per year for one metro, with a file every Monday. Self-serve on Apify: $0.004 per permit row.
